We provided civil and structural engineering consultancy services for this retirement living scheme development for over 55’s.The project comprised a 54 apartment new-build development on three floors with one and two bed units, restaurant, laundry, guest facilities, IT suite, communal rooms, entrance atrium, library, lifts and landscaped gardens.
Traditional load-bearing masonry construction was used in accordance with the developer preferences and incorporates cantilevered balconies to the apartments.
Careful value engineering was undertaken from the outset in order to configure the layout in a manner best suited to the form of construction. The development includes photovoltaic panels to the roof to achieve an enhanced environmental performance and achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.
