Civil and structural engineering services were provided for the purpose-built laboratory, offices and warehouse building, located within the Norwich Research Park.

The project was fast-track and had a strictly defined budget requiring early collaboration between ourselves and the successful contractor to establish construction methods which would allow early access for fit-out and installation of the specialist process equipment.

Due to the nature of the processes, strict effluent segregation and bunding provision were integrated into the design to limit the risk of contamination.  Such features included specialist process drainage systems to isolate effluent.  The use of jointless slabs and integral concrete bunds further improved the building’s robustness to control contamination risk.
