The development provides a new build special educational needs and disabilities school in Colchester. The new two storey main school building building includes 30 classbases, main hall, dining hall, hydrotherapy pool with associated changing facilities, trampoline room, music and drama studio and associated staff and student facilities. The development also included three two storey boarding houses to accommodate 35 students.

The external works comprises new access roads and car park, large areas of play surfaces including a MUGA and forest cycle path. Surface water is managed using a combination of soakaways and permeable paving. The buildings incorporate breathing buildings passive ventilation system and photovoltaic panels.
